What are you testing for 24 hours? Probably don't need to run Memtest for 24 hours, just do a loop or two. Even StressPrime will usually show an error if it exists in less than 12 hours. At stock settings, you can get away with less than 24 hours

Well........I set everything back to stock, but I even had an error in about 30 minutes at stock speeds now.

So, set everything back to default settings in the bios....with the exception of the settings GVblake told me about..to get my memory at the rated speeds. Every thing else is set at auto/defaults (more or less). So we will see what happens now.

Bummer, that's usually not a good sign, but sometimes you can overlook something. When you said you set everything back to default settings in the BIOS, did you do so with the Load Fail Safe Defaults option? Let us know how that goes for ya...

I don't know what you call it...but there was a button in the bios that I pushed that set everything back to defaults.

I ran my tests, they failed...went to ocz's forum and told them about it. They told me to test each stick individually. I did....
One stick failed inside of 40 minutes, the other was ran for a full 24 hours on memtest86+ and passed.
I'm sending the Rams back tomorrow and will get a replacement set.

Also tested my cpu (oc'ed to 3.217) on orthos for a full 24 hours (finished today)....no errors and temp. never got over 50c. Pretty much stayed about 46-47c on coretemp and 44-45 tat.

Hopefully I will get two good Ram stick replacements soon.

Yep, sounds like you got a bum stick. That's unfortunate but it does happen. I have a friend who got one dead stick in a Crucial Ballistix kit, sent it back and got another DOA kit as a replacement from Newegg! Ended up just returning it for an OCZ kit and has been running fine since.

I also personally just had a single stick of Super Talent DDR2-800 that was bad and I'm currently waiting on the replacement from SuperTalent. Definitely not a fun process or experience, but it can happen.

In the DDR1 days I had a dual channel 1GB kit (2x512MB) and one of the sticks were messed up. It sucks really bad and is horribly annoying, but let's hope when you get the new stick you're back up and running fast.

I love OCZ's lifetime warranty. i had a kit of DDR400 OCZ Gold VX give up the ghost after pumping 3.5v (max covered in the warranty) through them. well they no longer made the Gold VX so they sent me some Platinum Rev2 DDR400. all i had to pay was the initial S&H. turn around time was fast too!
