| I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | Two things: 1) Quantity doesn't affect the speed (in frequency) of the kits. For example, a 2GB and a 4GB kit of DDR2-800 both run at 800MHz. 2) There's a marked difference between theoretical and real-world. A DDR2-1066 kit looks considerably faster than a DDR2-800 kit on paper, but you're looking at very small differences when benchmarking the two, and virtually indistinguishable in terms of noticeable (outside of benchmarking) differences. And that doesn't even touch on the topic of RAM latencies/timings, which also affect performance (again, in small amounts). |
