I would say in your case a 1066 isn't necessary though it would guarantee that RAM wouldn't hold you back. You should have no problem achieving 4GHz on the E8400 and still have stability with a 1:1 ratio on a quality 800 kit. With a 1066 kit, you won't have to worry about the headroom. What online vendors are you looking at purchasing from?

Amazon.

I use a Shop and ship service by Aramex
Quote:
This service offers you a personal mailing address in the US and the UK where you can receive your correspondence as well as personal and business packages such as Internet orders, gifts, magazine subscriptions, bank statements and more. Aramex then forwards the mailbox contents to your doorstep
newegg does not support this sort of service so they dont ship to the mailbox.

Any of these kits would be suitable.
From amazon.com:

Doesn't look like they have too much else from which to choose. Any other vendor options?

I have both the OCZ and Crucial branded DDR2 memory and am very happy with both. If I had to choose, would lean towards the OCZ memory out of personal preference though.

Intel C2D 6550
Asus P5Q Pro
OCZ Platinum DDR2 800 2 x 2 GB
EVGA GTX260 216
Samsung SyncMaster 930B
1 x WD3200 2 x WD2000JD
HP DVD640
Corsair 750TX
Win XP Home SP3

I'd recommend the OCZ over the Crucial, but only because OCZ is so much cheaper....both are exceptional companies that stand behind their products

INTEL QX9650 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 8GB PC2-8500 // BFG GTX260 MaxCore // DD Torture Rack // Seagate 750GB HDD // OCZ Vendetta // PC Power & Cooling 620W PSU

after using both crucial and ocz, i have to say they are both excellent. so really it comes down to price. i personally would go with the cheaper of the two kits

I have 2GB of the Crucials, haven't put them in my system yet though, still waiting on some parts. I have friends who have them though, as well as OCZ. It really comes down to price and preference. You really can't go wrong with either one.

Intel E2220
Gigabyte P35-DS3L
AC Freezer 7 Pro
2GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800
EVGA 8800GT 512MB

Seagate 250GB SATA
WD Raptor 74GB SATA
Samsung S203B DVD+R
