Just in case you are not sure what Capper just said about the matched pairs in each channel,

0 & 2 are one channel, and 1 & 3 are the other channel.

Consult your motherboard manual and make sure you know which slots are on which channel so you know that you have your memory operating in "dual channel" (where one DIMM is on one channel, and the other matched DIMM is on the other channel).

Gotcha.

I just wasn't sure when I was looking at upgrading what the impact of my current RAM may have on what I picked to upgrade now and later. I doubted I could run two pairs at different speeds, but I figured I might as well ask.

Now I have some deciding to do. At least I can make a much more educated decision.
