Indeed. It looks like its set the divider for you, try setting it manually according to my last post.

Is it there?
What are your choices under the "System Memory Multiplier" option? That's probably it...

Okay, sorry for taking 5 days to respond. I never had time to remember to check it.

here is my memory multiplier thing:

Yep, that is where you change the memory divider (or multiplier, how ever you want to look at it). That is a very strange way of listing it, but here's how it's gonna work in your case...

Your E6400 has a stock FSB of 266 MHz (technically 266.5), which gives you the 1066 MHz quad pumped bus (because 266.5x4 = 1066).

So in the "System Memory Multiplier" menu, the "2.00" value is your 1:1 (which will run your memory based off the exact speed of the FSB) or DDR2-533.

"2.50" would be used as your DDR2-667 memory speed, and "3.00" would be DDR2-800. Just multiply your FSB (266.5) by the value in the "System Memory Multiplier" menu and it will give you your resulting memory DDR2 speed.

So.... since my ram is 800mhz, then its 266FSB x 3 = 798.
So it's AUTO is set to 3.0 X

Can you tell me if this chart I made is correct?

Click the image to open in full size.

If the chart is correct, I would have to utilize the highlighted areas, so my RAM is not overclocked or underclocked too much?

Or would making a significant OC gain require setting the CPU Clock ratio to 7 or 9, and further calculating the FSB into the memory and CPU clock?

Just for my information, the CPU clock cannot physically harm the processor like upping the voltage could, right?

Yeah, that table looks correct. You can really have it at any combination of memory multiplier and FSB as long as the resulting memory speed is below 800 MHz (to keep your RAM underclocked).

It's debatable whether it is better to have a higher memory frequency or a faster CPU clock speed, but I would rather have a faster processor speed. The ideal situation would be to have the best of both worlds by achieving a high CPU clock speed with the fastest possible memory speed; which is done by lowering the CPU multi a little so you can crank up the FSB to achieve your highest processor overclock. Did that rambling make any sense?

Yes, actually. That's what I was thinking is the way to go but I wanted to make sure :)

I gotta makes another chart :)

Ya know, I'm not entirely sure, but I would be willing to bet $1 that it simply changing the clock speed will not physically harm the processor beyond repair... :dontknow:

I've never burned up a Processor from FSB adjustments. Only from Voltage.

Yeah. You'd probably run more of a chance of messing up the BIOS on the motherboard rather than the processor.
