| Wow that was a quick reply!! I read somewhere not sure where but aparently Corsair have crossed the 2000Mhz mark. Great so thats a new line of motherboards needed!! It look forward to hear what you find from your DDR3 testing!! | ||||||||||||||

| The Final Word
| Yeah, I'm still up working my butt off trying to get next weeks articles cranked out. I've seen kits from Corsair, Kingston, and OCZ that have breached 2000MHz.....until lately its taken timings around 10-10-10-24, which isn't too impressive. As to motherboards, the X38s are good boards, but for whatever reason seem to be poor choices for high speed memory.....except this ASUS Maximus I'm using now, which has a default 16000FSB setting instead of the 1300FSB options found on most other offerings. The P35s OCed very well, but just can't handle anything over 1750FSB with their 1066FSB strap. The X48 will offer better memory options, but considering the price and the buzz, its not worth the money they are planning on charging for it. | I personally think the Raptors are a waste of money, but since I bought them I might as well run them as they were intended. As to the noise, I don't hear them at all. | See I feel the exact opposite. I love my Raptors in RAID0 and can't stand working on a PC without them lol. Mine are not too noisy either. | I Have a 74 Raptor hoping to get another for RAID 0 and I find that my HDD is the loudest part of my computer. But my computer was built with sound in mind! For example I have a passive zalman VGA cooler on my GPU | ||||||||||||||

| I paid £300 in total for 2Gig of DDR3 1333 (OC'd to 1600). That just shows how it really is coming down already!! | ||||||||||||||
