| MAn those things can take way more then 2.1-2.2v. Especially with the huge heatsinks. Would have like to see you push them harder but I do know reviewers sometimes have restrictions. | I'm Evil | I did the actual testing on this kit (and all others), and I will explain my rationale, whether you agree with me or not. There is a spec for memory (1.8V for DDR2, 1.5V for DDR3), anything above that is on the manufacturer. Many of the kits I test have above spec voltages, and I'll always test kits at their rated voltage....but when it comes to overclocking there are no guarantees, and I don't want to mislead people into pumping excessive voltage through their kits. A lot of site will do this....hell, they didn't pay for the hardware, its a review sample. If they burn it up, they aren't out anything. A lot of times, you will see sites post incredible results, that aren't stable (my favs are the reviews that post a screenshot or CPU-Z shot of an OC that isn't stable enough to run a benchmark). I take offense to this......our job is to show you the performance benefits of a product, and results you SHOULD expect........running a kit at suicide settings, or showing unstable results is extremely irresponsible. Having said all that, my limit for DDR2 is 2.2V, unless the default is above that....and 2.0V for DDR3, again, unless the default is higher. This is .4~.5V above the JEDEC spec, and in my opinion the real safe limit of a standard kit (At least the safe limit of a kit you plan on using for an extended period of time). I stand by the way I test, and feel the results we show in our reviews are realistic, and what the average, or casual gamer/enthusiast should expect.
