With as many AMD fan boys as there are, I don't think AMD is in too big a chance of failing.

No, AMD isn't gonna fail from the launch of Quad FX. And there are also an equal number of fanboys for every company, they are a unique bunch....

Nah AMD won't die because they launched QuadFX or because Intel has the market with their C2D's atm. After all Intel wasn't better than dead before C2D, their Pentium D were just stalling at the same boring speed and same boring performances. C2D arrival is a good thing, forces AMD to make something even better.

It's great though because Intel knows they're not so far upfront so everybody's working hard at it.
R&D costs must be pretty high at the moment.
