Gonna have to agree with all that's been said. Although I have seen a 1Ghz overclock out of my E6600...it wasn't stable like the 800Mhz O/C is. I attribute that more towards the mobo though.

The dual core CPU's are just now starting to see games that can take advantage of them. Software is quickly catching up to the dual core habit. Much more so than the 64-bit computing environment caught on.

Intel's first dual core CPU's were slapped and taped together much like their Quads are now.

Intel is using AMD's 64-Bit marketing strategy. It helps their stock and makes them *seem* like the industry leader which also impresses the buying public and increases sales.

Like my Dad always said tho, you can put a $500 dress on a $20 woman of the night, but in the end, your still getting screwed, you just paid more to do it.
