Pentium Ds are horrible. I should have worked harder to convince my dad to let me build an X2 system. It doesn't satisfy my needs. | We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | polobunny is exactly right.....when it comes to real world performance, benchmarking means little.....sure you can see the difference between a budget and a high end part, but in all actuality, if your system does what you need it to, theres no reason to worry. If my job and life wasn't built around testing and such, i'd still be using a s939 Opteron processor.....I see no point in spending $500-1000 for something that'll be obsolete in 6-12 months INTEL QX9650 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 8GB PC2-8500 // BFG GTX260 MaxCore // DD Torture Rack // Seagate 750GB HDD // OCZ Vendetta // PC Power & Cooling 620W PSU |

| I normally don't bench either. I have 3D Mark 2001 installed, Thats it, I only installed it because my friend was having issues with it, and I wanted to see if I could duplicate the issue. But, my real-world performance was suffering with my Winchester...CSS was going below 40FPS alot of the time, no matter what resolution...Thats why I got the opteron... Oh and to make the people happy, I ran ORTHOS for 12 hours error free, and the last 20 or so WUs processed at 2.7GHz in WCG are valid and error free too Opteron 64 165--1.5GB DDR--ECS KA1 MVP(thanks HL!)--x1800GTO 256MB--Seagate 320GB SATA--Antec 550 Watt--Antec P180 |

| socket 939 junkie | i wonder what stepping you got. i ordered a new 165 12/20/06 from newegg and got a CCBBE 0610DPMW which is known to be the most reliable in terms of reaching 3ghz. looking forward to playing with it! |

| T-Rex | Wouldn't really help, I doubt they're checking the dates on the CPU @ NewEgg and sort them that way. =P Most probably a 0610 though, those were the most produced apparently. Maybe with water you could get it to 3ghz 1.45v, who knows. =) |
