| Level 2 College Student | what about my 10000 RPM fan#2? That can't be right at all. Also, sometimes it says 25000 RPM as well. =/ So when I'm in the BIOS, my CPU temp is (now) about 30°C. How many degrees does being in desktop @ <2% CPU usage usually add? Right now, @ <2% CPU, Temp1: 34°C Temp2: 26°C With 1 instance of FAH running for 5 minutes @ ~51% CPU Temp1: 34°C Temp2: 34°C =? ![]() ![]() |

| T-Rex | I'm just as clueless as you, but the bios is not necessarily right, and it's not because one value is wrong that they all are. It could be an offset, or a divider. There's advanced options to speedfan and sometimes you'll need to fiddle with them to make it work properly. At any rate you can also use other softwares with different temperature reading scripts, which will hopefully find "better" values. (Motherboard Monitor 5, Everest Ultimate, A64Tweaker v0.61 and the list goes on) |

| Level 2 College Student | I'll mess with them tomorrow. Right now I gotta get some sleep and I'll run the Prime95 torture test and FAH to get it stable. BTW here are the latest test results @ +70mhz Processor - Intel Core 2 2688 MHz CPU Score - 8325 CPUMarks (Reference:) Stock: Processor Intel Core 2 2133 MHz CPU Score7567 CPUMarks (/Reference) ![]() ![]() Last edited by Zambini; January 7th, 2007 at 07:24. |

| T-Rex | Hmm Zambini, try not to give a link to submit a project, with an illegal key on top of that. I don't like knowing Futuremark will be checking my IP in the future to see if i'm trying to pirate their software. Edit: Besides i'm not quite sure what are your settings, but here's a quick test I ran a while ago with a E6600 and it scored 10k CPU. | Level 2 College Student | What, you dont think I bought it? :tee: Anyway I don't get how you got 130 more CPUMarks with that, seeing as I was running @ ~2.7ghz and the proc U did that on was 2.4ghz Unless its cuz I haven't updated my drivers or whatever 3dmark05 keeps bitching at me about. On a side note; I just noticed that after many hours, my mouse will start acting strange. As I move it across the screen, it stops for about 1/10th of a second. You think this has to do with the proc or is it driver issue? ![]() ![]() Last edited by Zambini; January 7th, 2007 at 07:38. |

The temperatures change suprisingly fast. It's not instant, but it may seem like it depending on what the monitoring interval is on the temperature sensor. If it is a long time between temperature updates (like 10 seconds) then it could seem like it drops instantly. But if the temp is measured at say 3 second intervals, you will see it drop little by little (but it still drops pretty fast).

| Level 2 College Student | okay, 356mhz is totally unstable. Ran FAH and Prime95 (Torture test failed 3 times) overnight and came back to a "Windows has recovered from a serious error" So its back to 346 mhz. But since it's time to go to school I'm just gonna set it and keep my pc off. =/ [edit] Ok, i'm @ 346... My mouse is doing that thing again. It'll go smooth and then freeze for like 1/12 of a second and continue smoothly.... Is this CPU related or does this have nothing to do with it? ![]() ![]() Last edited by Zambini; January 8th, 2007 at 06:52. |

| Modder-ator | Sounds like your computer is lagging because it is using too much virtual memory from your HDD. Check in task manager and see if anything is using an unusual amount of memory, that is probably what is causing the momentary lag. Where you having this problem before you started overclocking? |

It happened once. It stopped after I typed that after a while. I guess some stuff turned off after that. ![]() ![]()
