i would go for a Thermalright Ultra 120, TTV1 is just fancy, it works like 9500 Zalaman and the latter is cheaper than TTV1 if i'm not mistaken... Push the Quad to higher clock man,

Hmm...I see what you mean - the only reason I considered the V1 was because of its no motherboard removal installation - otherwise I'd get the GeminII in a heartbeat.

Careful not to strip any screws... cause if you do, I'm looking forward to seeing pics of your new water cooling setup!

Yeah I can see that but it sucks that you spent the money/time on the GeminII, and it ended up going to "waste".

I've basically narrowed it down to 3 culprits;

1) Cooler Master GeminII with 2 ARCTIC 10.5-24.5dBA fans = $59.97 + tax = $68.37

2) Thermaltake V1 = $64.99 + tax = $74.09

3) ZALMAN CNPS9500-Cu-LED = $63.99 + tax = $72.95

They're all in a similar price range. Some would IMMEDIATELY say the GeminII. I mean - an amazing all around cooler with two fans is cheaper than the other two? But what's the best OVERALL in terms of cooling, efficiency with the corresponding fans, noise level, everything - THAT'S what I'm worried about! And, Q6600 may have specific cooling specs that lean towards one of the above three coolers.

Thanks in advance guys!!!

Hi Dr. V,

I am basically have the same configuration as you, Q6600 with GO stepping (Checked with CPU-Z) + GA-P31-DS3R

And I'm using 2x2GB PC2 5300 kingston KVR667D2N5/2G

Now, I know that I am an idiot, and I cannot find any software that included in my GA P31 Mobo that could monitoring/tracking my CPU as well as Mobo Temprature.. could you please perhaps give me a link or tell me your recommended software for monitoring our Q6600 CPU temp and Gigabyte Mobo please...

yea I know I'm an idiot...

1 last question... (I'm afraid of asking abit too much thought )

could you perhaps provide me a detailed "step by step" on how you actually overclocked your Q6600 as that I'm completely ****** on this.. I was wonder how did you actually changed your Bus Speed from 266 to 300Mhz
and how you changed your FSB from 1066 to 1200
and yes.. I'm a complete ****** on overclocking... so perhaps every1 could be a little bit easy on me...

Thanks alot in advance guys... :D

Hey Elite, no worries...one can never ask enough questions to learn. For overclocking, it's easy, although I recommend starting a new thread for it in the Overclocking section. You'll get many more helpful replies there then in an old thread.
For software monitoring, I'm not sure what exactly V is using, but the most common are:
TAT -Intel Thermal Analysis Tool
CoreTemp
Speedfan
RealTemp

If I missed one, someone else will chime in.

If your using an Nvidia based card or system, nTune provides a whole system analysis for the board, GPU, and processor. I believe the ATi Catalyst Control Center does this as well, but I haven't used a Radeon card in years. If you add your current rig to your signature, we'll be able to help you out a bit more.
