Mach 2 GT/Vapochill setup would be a nice start into extreme cooling.

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Depending on your goals (hobby vs bang/buck), just make sure you draw the line at some point where the added cooling costs start to outweigh the performance gains, or cost of getting a faster chip to begin with, or the cost of upgrading a different part of your system, etc.

well im pretty happy with the performance right now so im pretty sure im going to stick with aircooling for now. initially i was considering watercooling if i would have recieved one of those 3ghz monsters. ill probably sit tight with this for now and wait for the DX10 cards to come out. im sure i can still eek out a bit more performance with memory timings and what not too.

There is always that plateau where you have to add a pretty significant bump in voltage for a minimal gain in your overall O/C, thats really the point where you need to stop, as the trade off are not worth the pressure it puts on your system

INTEL QX9650 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 8GB PC2-8500 // BFG GTX260 MaxCore // DD Torture Rack // Seagate 750GB HDD // OCZ Vendetta // PC Power & Cooling 620W PSU

Well said, I wish everyone would understand that. The other day at work one guy was going totally crazy in his thoughts to overclock his Athlon XP 2800+... sigh
He started talking about water cooling and all, then I stopped him and said "Hey you know you'd get better results with a A64 3200+ on air with a new mobo?" but I don't think he really understood that. :x
