i knew it! lol X-bit labs - New Member In Core 2 Duo Processor Family: Introducing CPUs with 1333MHz Bus (page 11)

Bokranator 1 - intel ( a very large number but oh well)
I guess I don't follow what you mean here. Are you trying to say that the introduction of these 1333MHz FSB processors is a good thing or a bad thing? If the price cuts come, it still won't happen for almost another month...

no, just I just googled intel price drop and it came up somewhere. looks true though, i'll look for a decent link.

Here it is:
Intel to chop 1066MHz FSB CPUs earlier than expected? | Channel Register there, looks good. e6600 going with the pentium D :(

The Digitimes article the Register linked to quotes that the shipments are "suspended" and The Register interpreted that as "Discontinued". If you take the literal translation of the word "suspended", it suggests that they are not going away forever. I not sure if the E6600 will see the end of its life at the end of the year or not, but I doubt it.

Price cuts are not anything new. AMD has gone through several signifigant price cuts over the past year or so. It is usually done to keep products competitive, I think Intel just wants to attract more people from an AM2 platform to LGA 775 and lower prices is one good way to do that.

I hope it doesnt go, its a good chip. the price will have to drop alot though or it will be just a little less than the Q6600. it might pay off for intel to discontinue it if its going to cost alot to make it then sell it for low prices. theres just little to no profit.

No, you don't have to get 1333 Ram. Some 800MHz ram should do the trick.......

Newegg.com - Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
