Ah, the Buy.com listing was confusing me. It lists the E3110 as a socket 771 processor. Link

Nope the right one is a LG 775 chip ... it appears the deal is dead for now tho.
Intel Xeon Dual Core E3110 3.0GHz LGA775 1333MHz FSB 6MB L2 Cache

I got an order filled ... but don't know if they will ship yet.

It is essentially an E8400 labeled as Xeon. Lower voltages and higher temp rating ... but basically the same chip. [Picked as superior for server duty]

I would check the deal in the AM tomorrow if you still want one ... as often deals can resurrect in the AM after the warehouse affirms stock.

Make sure you get the 5% off tho. makes it just a tad sweeter deal.
5% succah

I actually like that it has less range in voltage. Even tho [if I get it] I think it will overclock well to 3.8GHZ.

Ah, I guess the 775 one didn't turn up in the search because it's sold out.

Polo ... I'm gona V-Bump it to get the 3.8 or 4 if I feel I can safely squeak in a stable OC. Just so I have 4GHZ ... kinda a milestone.

Yeah understood. I'm expecting more or less the same when I receive my E8400.
4Ghz @ 1.36v I'll have a big grin on my face.
4Ghz @ 1.38v would make me happy.
4Ghz @ 1.4v I'll put a straight face.
4Ghz @ +1.4v I'll frown.
not reaching 4Ghz.... I'm boiling thinking of it. :P
