Unfortunatly there are no BIOS setings in a Dell that allow for overclocking. They don't want you to mess with them.

Yea but,,,,, all you need to do is find out what motherboard it is and what bios chip its running, and hey change the bios chip :D

After changing the bios chip, you can do all of the tweaking you wish!!!

Maybe if you want to take the chance and if Dell hasn't changed in the last 2 years then their mobo's are made just for them with addons. Anything is possible but the steps to overclock on my 8200 and the risk involved were not worth it.

I've been looking on eBay recently and I'm seeing 3.4GHZ Prescott's starting at $50.

BTW, I don't plan on OCing at all.

IMO it's not worth to get another proc. go ebay an ASUS P4P800E and a cheapo case and take that northwood to like 3.8 (given the proper cooling.) one of my buddies had a dell based system with a 2.4C he picked up from a garage sale, he put everything on an abit board in another case and got it up to 3ghz safely.
