thats cool, I don't mind taking credit for something I didn't do (why not, my wife gets onto me for stuff I haven't done all the time)

Now I am curious how this 7200 stacks up to the E6600.... it seemed to be about equal or better then the 6550 in most cases...

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Man, newegg is really odd with my current location. Everything but hardware gets here fast as ever. CPU's, motherboards, videocards...all get lost in some black hole.

Ordered it Thursday, order processed by 5pm, left the New Jersey (!?) on Monday morning, and showing that it's in Oakland right now (recieved). It might not be until Thursday that I get it. Some DVD media, printer ink, and a router got here Friday.

since it has support for the other 45nm procs, i would say yes, but it will need a bios update which would require an older chip to boot the board and flash the bios.

Shows on par with a 6750 in general performance, so it's a fine purchase. Not much of an upgrade from an E6600, but a more sensible scratch build.

Got it sometime yesterday, but I've been on night shifts. It's sadly still just sitting in plastic.

Still sitting here Blair and the boys. I get one day off, and it's rock'n AC/DC and not bothering with that thing. Lazy? Probably. Waste? For sure. 7-days off coming up starting thrusday, and it won't be a freaking 100F in the computer room!

Nice, let me know how it works out. I'm trying to decide between that or just a second E8400 for a new (to me) rig I just picked up.

P5K-E / E8400 @ 4.0 / 2GB Hyper-X DDR2 / 7800GT / Antec900 / Scythe Ninja Copper (soon to be custom h2o)
P5W DH Deluxe / E7200 @ 3.8 / 2GB Ballistix DDR2-800 / 7600GT (passive) / P180B / Zalman Reserator V2
