I've been playing with the E6600 all day.....its alright, not the end all a lot of people are making it out to be. With a decent cooler (Scythe Mine), its idling at 43C, load at 55C.....I ordered a new cooler so we'll see if that makes a difference....In this DFI 975X board the best OC I've seen stable is 2.88GHz...might be the board, might be the memory. Look for a couple of good articles next week

Saweet! Did you try updating the bios on the MB? IIRC the DFI 975x was doing about 400MHz FSB(this could have been a ES MB). At any rate I will be looking forward to your results.

@ Blake: Did not even try the C2D in the P5WD2-E, and I know for sure it won't work. lol So in the last year I have spent 750.00 on Asus MB, it's insanity and I don't plan on doing it anymore.

i'm not confident enough that i can reach the best out of C2D E6400 if i'm ganna use heatsink&fan as a cooler, so i decided to take it to theexotic level of water block.

so i'll wait for your review of water cooling in the next few weeks...

It'll take a few days of tinkering to find the sweet spot. It bootd perfectly at 430FSB, but anything over that redboots.
The DFI BIOS is also really hard to navigate...as usual lots of poorly described and obscure settings

Memory accuracy (Enable/Disable)
Description: Enabled or Disabled.

Gotta love the useful descriptions they give in the bios.
430's pretty great. =D

haha no kidding. Somebody'd make a fortune if they wrote a new set of BIOS for all the popular motherboards.

Oskar Wu is the BIOS God, he has written the BIOS' for the best OCing board ever, between ABIT (IC7 Series) and DFI (DFI NF4 Series)....but yeah, companies need to put a LOT better effort into BIOS descriptions.
