An interesting thing is that modern processors run on average, warmer, than some of the CPU's that were overheating and shutting down. My FX-60, with a watercooler on it, runs on average between 39 and 43 degrees Celcius, whereas the Northbridge averages around 37 degrees Celcius, temperatures at which some of the above CPU's would have shut down. Also, those running temperatures are on the cooler side. Anticipated overheat shutdown isnt until approximately 70-75 degrees celcius.
