may want to check my new thread about AMDs next gen procs... looks promising with the lower TDP and speed+L3 ratings.

AMD next-gen unveiled

Thanks HL and Corsair!

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Just a few observations. Read an article in Forbes last week, and though their analysts acknowledge AMD's need to raise more capital, they also see the company's future prospects as being very good. Just checked some analysts on the web, and they all ranked the company either 4 or 5 stars. Also, as noted above, the enthusiast market comprises a very small portion of processor sales. Finally, and I know this is purely anecdotal, this month's PC World is, as always, filled with ads for computers. (Surprise!) The vast majority of those advertised were built with AMD processors.

The company is far from dead, and (I predict), ten years from now forum users will still be arguing AMD vs. Intel just as auto fans have fought about Ford vs. Chevy for nearly a hundred years now.

Coolermaster RC-690
OCZ StealthXStream 600 watt

I sure hope so! But then again, people used to argue 3DFX (an enthusiast favorite) vs nVidia, and AdLib vs Sound Blaster. Two of those companies remain...
