actually, in maxpc i read, there are some optimizations they are making that do improve the performance a fair amount. nothing amazing tho.

guys remember one thing... The low end quadcore and the low end dualcore uses a 7x multiplier. You'd need a 500fsb mobo just to get 3.5ghz. The only mobo i know of that would be sufficient for a 7x multiplier would be the DFI lanparty. On xtremesystems, they got the dfi mobo to hit 610fsb, which would finally be high enough for the 7x multiplier.

I'm guessing these penryn will overclock to 4ghz. The top launched cpu runs at 3.6ghz. (if they no not launch the 3.6ghz chip, then the next down in line would be the 3.33ghz chip.)
